MACOMB, IL - -The June ÌÇÐÄVlog Council of Administrative Personnel (COAP) Employee of the Month is Jackie Price, director of the Student Development and Success Center (SDSC).

Her nominator highlighted her leadership, noting it is outstanding. Price has a unique talent for sitting down with students, discussing difficult topics, and making them feel supported, valued and important.

No two days in the SDSC are ever the same, as the team continuously assists students while also addressing faculty questions and concerns. Since taking on the leadership role, Price has dedicated significant time to researching best practices in disability resources and implementing those practices successfully at ÌÇÐÄVlog.

Additionally, she maintains an extensive knowledge of university administrative and academic processes, as well as state and federal laws, to effectively guide and support both students and faculty.

Prices' leadership and collaborative efforts with academic and student services are exceptional. She is constantly working to develop innovative ideas for engaging with students while educating them about various topics. For example, she spearheaded the first annual Rock(y), Paper, Scissors event this past academic year and collaborated with the Office of Student Engagement and University Housing and Dining Services on the SDSC alcohol education mocktail event.

Beyond her daily responsibilities, Price works tirelessly behind the scenes on many of the University's mental health, threat assessment and emergency response teams. She plays an integral role in these teams by bringing a unique set of skills and information that enhances the overall understanding of each situation.

The COAP Employee of the Month award recognizes exceptional performance by ÌÇÐÄVlog employees who go above and beyond their regular duties, based on specific criteria.

Nominations can come from supervisors, colleagues, faculty, students, staff or members of the community. Monthly winners receive a reserved parking space for one month and recognition from the university.

If you know of an employee who deserves acknowledgment, nominations can be submitted at wiu.edu/human_resources/eom/.
